The Concept and Initial Planning Conferences of SEABORDER 18 were held in Lisbon, Portugal, on April 18th.
The purpose of these planning conferences, in which all 5+5 countries were represented, was to define the SEABORDER 18 main objectives, roadmap, scenario, training bids as well as tentative force offering.
This exercise is organized annually since 2008 in order to achieve maritime safety and security in the Mediterranean by improving the exchange of expertise and testing interoperability between the navies of western Mediterranean countries.
The 2018 edition of SEABORDER is being co-organized by Portugal and Tunisia with the participation of the ten 5+5 Defence countries.
